The History - CHITOS S.A.
1955
The history of CHITOS SA begins in the mid-50s with the establishment of beverage manufacturing industry located in the city of Ioannina. The founder of the factory was Mr. Ioannis Chitos, who came from the city of Ioannina, and who, with his sons Konstantinos and Alkiviadis as co-founders, started the production of “Hermes” soft drinks.
The Chitos family’s factory was then a small unit, but it was about to make a brilliant career growth in the near future.
1980
Ioannis Chitos held the reins of the Company for about 25 years.
In 1980, Konstantinos and Alkiviadis Chitos took over the management of the Company, renaming it “High Juice”.
1988
A milestone year for CHITOS S.A. and for its future growth, as the business plan of brothers Konstantinos and AlkiviadIs is successfully implemented. At a time when the consumption of bottled water is still quite low in Greece, CHITOS S.A., with the main asset of know-how and experience of more than 30 years, creates its own brand of bottled water entitled “ZAGORI” Natural Mineral Water.
2002
While bottled water is gaining ground in the daily life of consumers and demand is increasing, CHITOS S.A. is vertically integrating its production processes and creating the third factory unit for the production of packaging materials (pet preforms and caps) in the Industrial Area of Ioannina.
2012
CHITOS S.A. promotes itself as the most recognizable and competitive Greek bottled water industry, with the largest range of packaging and services, employing directly and indirectly more than 1,200 people in total.
2021
Nowadays, CHITOS S.A. is an innovative, well-established Greek company with a leading presence in the domestic bottled water market and a strong export activity in the international market, contributing substantially to the national economy.

The 2 privately owned springs of ZAGORI Natural Mineral Water with the two bottling plants are located in perfect harmony with the environment, at an altitude of 485 meters, at the foothills of the Zagorochoria mountain range.

To support the two bottling plants, CHITOS S.A. has a third industrial unit in the Industrial Area of Ioannina, with automated production of plastic pet packaging materials - preforms and caps.

At the same time, the company has further branches in Athens, Thessaloniki and Patras, and recently started the operation of the ZIREIA natural mineral water bottling plant in Peloponnese.
